  • Broughton Lodge is a 20 bed specialist residential service for adults with autism and who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

    We are looking for a professional, ambitious and confident Night Unit Manager to provide effective management of a team, which involves motivating, coaching, managing performance and auditing the quality of care as well as ensuring a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our residents first.

     

    In this role you will:

    • Take the lead and direct management of night shifts and support the senior management team in operational delivery of the service
    • Undertake formal supervision of support workers and support induction for new workers
    • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all our residents - Provide guidance and encouragement to residents through physical and emotional support
    • Assist residents with medical, hygiene and welfare needs and complete relevant administration and reports as required regarding medication or safeguarding
    • Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for our residents to live in, which will involve undertaking some domestic duties and complying with policies and procedures 
    • Learn about residents specific needs to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered for each individual
    • Provide enhanced support and clinical outcomes for residents, working collaboratively with the in house MDT
    • Achieve, maintain and develop quality of care under the Health and Social Care regulations and provide evidenced based practice upon CQC regulatory requirements
    • Contribute to the maintenance of an open and transparent culture of support and leadership
    • Be required to attend reviews, professional meetings and contribute to outcomes based practice when required

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player- Previous leadership and management experience is essential (min 1 year)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Management initiative is essential
    • Astute safeguarding practice and ability to make critical decisions
    •  A genuine desire to make a real difference in people’s lives - A strong, flexible mental aptitude and an ability to cope with the physical demands of the role
    • Strong emotional resilience and critical thinking skills
    • Flexibility to work shift patterns including weekends and days
    • Values and principles in line with company values
    • Driving licence and own transport is desirable due to rural location of home and lack of public transport
    • Demonstrable evidence of managing staff teams
