    Cygnet Health Care have been providing a national network of high quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.

    We are currently recruiting an Involvement Lead at Cygnet Bierley Hospital a low secure, specialist and psychiatric intensive care services for men and women, including a specialist personality disorder service for women.

    In this role you will be overseeing involvement across Cygnet Bierley. The involvement coordinator will be managed by the Therapy Manager with support from senior OT’s from all units.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Involvement lead will support patient to chair meeting.  Group will include:

    1-2 patient champions per ward/3-4 champions at Brighouse
    1-2 member from the therapy department

    • To support patient champions to feedback to wider patient group in relation to, external, involvement committee, clinical governance, clinical audit, heads of department and corporate meetings.  There is an expectation that IL and patient champion  only attend meetings where appropriate
    • To support patients on the ward to raise involvement issues with their ward champion and attend community meetings once a month on each ward (the IL will liaise with therapy staff prior to community meetings to organise specific dates/times)
    • To organise and support patients and staff to attend external meetings
    • To lead recovery, in particular relation to Recovery Charter
    • To lead all involvement initiatives, including Evaluation Star and Star Wards accreditation
    • To work with therapy department in relation to theme days (e.g. Comic Relief, sponsored walk)
    • To manage involvement budget and ensure that patients are paid for their attendance at external meetings and internal meetings where agreed with Clinical and Therapy Manager
    • To support patients to complete monthly First Impressions audit on each unit, completing a
    • patients to attend training (note they do not have to attend each on themselves)
