  • We are looking for a Clinical Team Leader (CTL) with a passion for delivering the best quality of care.

    You will be working 38.5 hours per week on Castle Ward, our brand new female PICU service at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green.

    Cygnet Hospital Godden Green operates an integrated Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) with a DfE registered school, the Knole Development Centre. In addition the hospital also provides a PICU service for women.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    • Assist the hospitals through clinical practice development and quality improvement.
    • Have a lead responsibility in undertaking regular audits of care through monitoring and analysis of documentation, assessment and observation of the lived experience of patients.
    • Work with the Clinical Manager to deliver targeted intervention where themes, trends and lessons learnt indicate a need for skills development.
    • Work within services focusing on the development of nursing practice, through clinical leadership, coaching and mentoring.
    • Be responsible for a planned programme of support across your area of focus as determined by the annual plan for Quality and Compliance.
    • Be an active member of clinical working committees relevant to role.
    • Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
    • Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
    • Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

    You will have…

    Essential:

    • Experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current Pin Number (at least 2 years’ post qualification experience.
    • The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits and demonstrate integrity in your role
    • Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices
    • A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage and reduce risk
    • Compassion, resilience and a dedication to empower and support service user independence

    Desirable:

    • The ability to deputise in a clinical lead role
    • An interest in leadership, research and assessment
    • Ward specific experience e.g. PICU

    The hospital is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Kent Weald, near Sevenoaks. Our specialist pathway service offers the following:

    • Knole Ward - Tier 4 CAMHS open acute admissions service
    • Castle Ward – Adult Female PICU service
    • Knole Development Centre - Education

    Castle Ward is our new 12 bed female PICU service at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green and accepts emergency and crisis admissions. Referrals are accepted from all areas, including acute and prison services.

    Our aim is a short, rapid intervention to help service users regain a sense of control and order in their lives, so they can move to a less restrictive care setting and ultimately return home.

    The service will provide expert, intensive, short-term, individualised care for women detained under the Mental Health Act. Service users will present with increased risks that require them to be assessed and treated in a PICU environment.
