  • We are looking to recruit a speech and language therapist (Band 5/6) to join our team in Scotland.

    The team support those who have additional mental or physical health needs, complex behaviours and difficulties with social engagement. The role will support services in Dundee, Dunblane and Lockerbie and be overseen by a band 7 highly specialist SLT.  


    Job Role:
    As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will have deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of the client group within a hospital and residential settings.  Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will use robust skills to assess, advise and intervene with the aim of promoting functional communication systems and optimal independence.  You will promote good practice and maintain a successful total communication environment.  You will be accountable to the onsite Highly Specialist SLT and the onsite service manager at Wallace Hospital.


    We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with:

    • Robust clinical and professional skills
    • Placement experience / interest in the field of Learning Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders and / or Mental Health Conditions.
    • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support with an emphasis on person-centred planning.
    • Knowledge of key national drivers for the client group
    • Evidence of being a strong team player with a genuine desire to help others
    • Good organisational skills
    • Ability to work flexibly in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
    • Enthusiasm, motivation and passion
