    We are looking for a professional, ambitious and confident Night Senior Support to come and work at our new service.

    Morgan House is our new young adults residential service for individuals aged 18+ with autism, learning disabilities and complex behavioural support needs. This service offers specialist care for those individuals who are on their care pathway from children’s to adult services and also young adults who require tailored support to meet their needs.

     

    Your Day-to-Day…

     

    • To act as buddy to new Support Workers
    • Ensure that the role and responsibilities of the Support Worker is full understood and demonstrated by all support staff.
    • Ensure that Staff read and understand the ward Manual of Care
    • Act as a Role Model with professional behavior, respecting our residents and confidentiality, developing other Staff, sharing knowledge and skills, and being supportive when there are crises or incidents.
    • Act as a trainer/coach to the team, ensuring that training is consistently and accurately applied in the workplace, identifying skills gaps and arranging/delivering coaching to fill gaps.  
    • To contribute and be part of a consistent highly professional Team supporting nurses and be recognised for skills in communicating with residents
    • Work with the team and contribute to raising standards, increased focus on residents needs
    • Responsibility for ensuring that new initiatives, changes in policy and procedure are cascaded to support workers, implemented and consistently applied on the ward to agreed standards and timescales.

     

    We're looking for people who have: 

    • will need to have night support worker experience of at least 2 years and team leadership experience of at 1 year.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player
    • Sensitive and intuitive with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
    • Helping to empower & support service user independence.
    • Flexible to work 12.5 hour shift patterns on a rota basis including nights and weekends
    • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant care setting is preferable but not essential
