  • We are recruiting an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our inter-disciplinary team at Cygnet Hospital Woking in Surrey.

    Cygnet Hospital Woking offers a range of secure mental health services for men and women. Cygnet Lodge Woking, our sister hospital close by, provides a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men and extends our care pathway.

    Services are delivered in a purpose-built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. A range of therapies supports the care pathway towards independent living. The hospital is close to transport links and with ready access to the local community.

    Your Day-to-Day...

    Manage a diverse caseload of clients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
    The opportunity to be involved in extensive care pathways for clients that you can follow through the hospital
    Work closely as part of the Therapies team which includes other Qualified OTs / OTAs who will assist you in your duties (including therapeutic activity), whilst also receiving support from a highly experienced Head of Occupational Therapy
    Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure whilst utilising standardised and non-standardised tools
    Implement core group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
    Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management, within your clinical area
    Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures

    You will have...

    A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
    Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
    Sufficient experience working as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist or currently operating at a Band 6
    Some experience working with a female or male mental health client group
    An understanding of Occupational Therapy process and interventions in a mental health care inpatient setting
    The ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team

    Contracted hours: 40 per week Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
