  • We are looking for an experienced Clinical Team Leader / Senior Nurse (RMN) to join us at Cygnet Lewisham Lodge as a Clinical Team Leader.

    You will be working 38.5 hours per week, based at Cygnet Lewisham Lodge.

    Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service providing care for up to 17 men. Our service provides a high level of support and uses a recovery focused model.

    The service is ideal for anyone who has been on a longer-stay hospital or acute ward for a period of time and would benefit from a service which helps them prepare for a successful return to the community.

    Your day-to-day…

    • Supervise the smooth running of a shift and take leadership responsibility for the Lodge in the absence of the Manager.
    • Act as a role model to all staff in clinical areas, helping to maintain a motivated positive work force.
    • Participate in the manager’s on-call system to provide the first point of contact for site based staff, outside of normal working hours.
    • Take an active role in clinical audit on the ward.
    • Actively coach and mentor staff to improve practice on the ward including supporting and supervising RMN’s and Preceptee’s.
    • Take a lead role in working with the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate and effective care plans which meet the physical & emotional needs of the service users in a caring and empathic manner.
    • Participate in training and development of staff.
    • Follow and ensure others implement Cygnet Health Care Policy and Procedures and maintain level of service, which meets the standard for the Lodge

    Salary:

    • £15.76 - £20.15 per hour (depending on experience plus a location allowance of £4,000)
    • Enhancement rates;
    10% of basic Salary for Night shifts
    20% of basic salary for weekend shifts
    30% of basic rate for nights on the weekend
    66% of basic rate for bank holidays

    You will have…

    Essential:

    • Experience as a Senior Registered Nurse Mental Health / RMN with a current Pin Number.
    • The ability to maintain documentation and undertake audits.
    • A good understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 & latest nursing practices
    • A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage & reduce risk
    • Dedication to empower & support service user independence
    • Inpatient mental health experience 

    Desirable:

    • Experience working in inpatient rehabilitation
    • Compassion, integrity, honesty and resilience
    • Nurses with interests in leadership, research & risk assessment.
    • Able to deputise in the absence of the manager

  • Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is part of our integrated male care pathway of services that includes the low secure and psychiatric intensive care unit at our sister unit Cygnet Hospital Blackheath.

    Our full time therapists offer an excellent range of therapies to reduce the risk of relapse and develop tailor-made rehabilitation programmes to meet people’s own individual needs. Individuals are supported in daily living tasks and activities such as going to their GP, dentist and other important aspects such as budgeting, self-care and everyday skills such as laundry and housework.
