    We are currently recruiting a Clinical Psychologist or Neuropsychologist to join our brand new service opening in Barnsley, Cygnet Pindar House.

    Cygnet Pindar House will be a brand new 22 bed Neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility opening in January 2020 for men affected by acquired brain injuries. It will be a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease, like Huntington’s Disease. Our person centred approach puts the individual at the centre of their treatment and discharge planning.

    The Opportunity…

    The post-holder will have a key role in providing specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy to a range of clients at the service. You will also consider potential risks and social needs of the client group, relevant to their diagnosis.

    This role will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team comprising of; a Neuropsychiatrist, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist, a Speech and Language Therapist, Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. You will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.

    As a HCPC Registered Psychologist, you will have a pivotal role in the training and clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists, Volunteers and Psychology Trainees/Students on site. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development along with the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.

    You will have…


    • A Doctorate Level Qualification (BPS route or equivalent) in Clinical or Forensic Psychology along with HCPC Registration
    • Some experience and/or a keen interest in working with acquired brain injuries and neurodegenerative conditions
    • Experience within mental health and knowledge of psychological assessment, treatment and therapies.
    • The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team


    • Training and supervision experience is desirable
    • Experience of working within an adult male neuropsychiatric inpatient service

    Contracted hours: up to 40hrs per week between Monday to Friday.
