  • We are recruiting a Part Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our inter-disciplinary team at Cygnet Hospital Woking in Surrey.

    This role is a 1 year fixed term contract, covering maternity leave. 

    Cygnet Hospital Woking offers a range of secure mental health services for men and women. Cygnet Lodge Woking, our sister hospital close by, provides a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men and extends our care pathway.

    Services are delivered in a purpose-built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. A range of therapies supports the care pathway towards independent living. The hospital is close to transport links and with ready access to the local community.


    Your Day-to-Day...

    • Manage a diverse caseload of clients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
    • The opportunity to be involved in extensive care pathways for clients that you can follow through the hospital
    • Work closely as part of the Therapies team which includes other Qualified OTs / OTAs who will assist you in your duties (including therapeutic activity), whilst also receiving support from a highly experienced Head of Occupational Therapy
    • Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure whilst utilising standardised and non-standardised tools
    • Implement core group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
    • Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management, within your clinical area
    • Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures


    You will have...

    • A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
    • Sufficient experience working as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist or currently operating at a Band 6
    • Some experience working with a female or male mental health client group
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process and interventions in a mental health care inpatient setting
    • The ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: 24 per week / 3 days between Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
