  • We are looking to recruit a Highly Specialist (Band 7) Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at Scotland Residential Services.

    This role will cover a number of services including:

     

    • Cygnet Ellen Mhor (DD1 2QH). Based in a suburban area of Dundee, Ellen Mhor is a specialist residential service supporting up to 12 adults living with a learning disability and complex needs, and who may have an autistic spectrum condition. The team also supports individuals who have complex behaviours and associated mental or physical health needs.
    • Cygnet Lindsay House (DD3 9AG), which consists of two bespoke single person apartments providing a more independent living environment. Lindsay House is suitable for individuals with a learning disability who also have additional complex needs and behaviours, requiring bespoke staffing packages.
    • Cygnet Ranaich House (FK15 0DR) which is located in Dunblane, Ranaich House is a specialist residential service offering care and support in a structured and therapeutic environment for up to 14 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
    • Cygnet Thistle (DD3 9AG) which is situated in a residential area of Dundee, Thistle is a specialist residential service supporting up to ten individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. The team of nurses and support workers also support those with complex behaviours, as well as those who have associated mental health needs.

    Your Day-to-Day…
     

    • Implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to client’s diagnosis and identified needs within the service
    • Provide clinical care to a caseload of clients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
    • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team onsite
    • Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure whilst utilising standardised and non-standardised tools
    • Implement core group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
    • Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management, within your clinical area
    • Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures
    • To actively participate in and initiate the planning, development and evaluation of OT services, holding responsibility for defined projects

     

    You will have…

    Essential:

    • A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
    • Experience working in a Band 6 (Specialist) or Band 7 (Highly Specialist) Occupational Therapist role. This would also suit someone in a Senior / Lead or Head OTposition
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process and interventions within an inpatient setting
    • A 'hands on' approach
    • The ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

     

    Desirable:

    • Experience with an adult autism / learning disabilities client group
    • Training and supervision experience is desirable

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: up to 40 per week, Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
