    We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager in our new service- Glyn House in Stoke-on-Trent, a young adults residential service for individuals aged 18+ with autism, learning disabilities and complex behavioural support needs. This service offers specialist care for those individuals who are on their care pathway from children’s to adult services and also young adults who require tailored support to meet their needs.

    In this role you’ll: 

    • Build professional relationships with the residents and staff at your establishment and throughout the company
    • Deputisie for the Registered Manager in their absence
    • Be able to communicate effectively with outside agencies to promote the service
    • To create and develop links between the home and local community, so that residents can play a full and appropriate part in the life of the community
    • Assist with planning of the on-call duties, and undertake on call duties as delegated.
    • To provide leadership, guidance and management, communicating a clear sense of direction which staff understand and are able to relate to the aims and purpose of the home.
     

     We're looking for people who have:
    • A proven track record of managing Learning disabilities, Autism or challenging behaviours
    • Outstanding staff management and organisation skills
    • Familiarity with – and the ability to apply – CQC, the Mental Health Act and other professional regulations
    • Good presentation and report writing skills
    • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
    • Applicants without a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care should be willing to work towards one
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a managerial role.
