  • We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Manager to join us at Cygnet Hospital Churchill.

    You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday with on call duties.

    Cygnet Churchill, in south London, is a 57 bed inpatient mental health hospital for men.

    40 high dependency in-patient Rehab beds
    17 Emergency acute admission service beds.

    By combining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach and state-of-the-art facilities, we deliver high-quality care within a community atmosphere, while focusing on discharge planning from the moment service users arrive.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    • Responsible for the day to day overview and steer of the clinical service
    • Ensure the delivery of an optimum level of clinical and therapeutic care and consistency in compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards  and KPIs
    • Provide the leadership and direction for contemporary initiatives to drive and embed effective clinical practice
    • Support staff in delivering a high standard of care through regular appraisals, training and development of evidence/research based practice
    • To have day-to-day line management responsibility for the Head of Psychology, Ward Managers, Head Social Worker and Head Occupational Therapist

    You will have...

    • A Registered Mental Health Nurse / RMN (current pin number)
    • Currently operating as a Ward manager / Head of Care or significant experience in a Senior Nursing role
    • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Experience of providing clinical and managerial supervision, offering support in making clear and consistent clinical decisions along with the ability to lead and motivate a Nursing team effectively
    • Experience in relevant clinical services 
    • An interest in leadership, research and assessment

  • Cygnet Churchill is a 40 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. Men often come to this service following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings.

    Our recovery programme is delivered in a culture that balances risk management with therapeutic optimism, where men have the opportunity to learn and practice the skills they will need in a completely safe environment.

     

    This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
