    We are looking for a professional, ambitious & confident Ward Manager, you must be either a Registered Mental Health/RMN or Learning Disabilities Nurse/RNLD to work at Cygnet Hospital Coventry

    In this role you will....

    • Provide the highest standard of nursing care, therapeutically based on a named nurse/team nursing approach and to ensure junior staff do the same
    • Co-ordinate clinical aspects of the hospital and to ensure a sound co-operation between the clinical departments in the interests of delivering an excellent service to patients
    • Be conversant with and implement all relevant policies, procedures and regulations, whether clinical or administrative or representing interface between the two areas.  Where appropriate this will entail ensuring compliance by others of such policies, procedures and regulations
    • Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to - update local documentation in consultation with other colleagues in accordance with company guidelines, NMC guidelines, legislation and current research
    • Support staff in delivering a high standard of care through regular appraisals, training and development of evidence/research based practice
    • To participate in the manager’s on-call system to provide the first point of contact for ward based staff, outside of normal working hours

    • Are committed to delivering service improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
    • Have experience of working in a forensic environment or PICU setting
    • Have evidence of managing change; leadership initiatives and experience of motivating and developing others will be important attributes for any successful candidates
    • Are open, compassionate, honest & resilient
    • Are capable to undertake audits and close the audit cycle
    • Are well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices
    • Are focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk

  • Location Information
  •  Cygnet Hospital Coventry offers specialist inpatient services for women across three wards, with step down facilities also forming part of the care pathway.

    Services include a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), a highly specialised personality disorder service that also caters for those with dual diagnosis disordered eating, and a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service.

    In addition the hospital also includes St Mary’s Court, seven studio apartments that offer the opportunity to safely test out independent living skills prior to service users moving back into the community.
