  • We require a flexible, energetic, and enthusiastic individual with excellent motivational skills to join our Occupational Therapy Team at our hospital in Bierley. The successful candidate will primarily work on Bronte Ward - our 12 bed female low secure service, offering assessment, recovery based treatment and rehabilitation for women who have on-going and challenging mental health problems and may have a dual diagnosis.

    In this role you will:

    Planning and implementing activities as a therapeutic medium under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist. Provide individual and group activities to support recovery and rehabilitation. Responsible for leading therapy and education activities on Bronte ward.

     

    We are looking for someone who has:

    Essential:

    Experience of supporting service users with mental illness is essential, NVQ Level III or above or equivalent health care related qualification, Knowledge & application of activities to support positive health & wellbeing, Persistence to work hard to achieve the best for every service user under difficult circumstances.

    Desirable:

    Level II food safety certificate, Experience in liaising with other staff within the MDT on patients progress/issues, Emotional awareness to handle concerns and complaints. Knowledge of recovery approaches and social inclusion.

The hospital is set across four wards offering single-sex male and female specialist mental health services in low secure and locked environments. Our ward breakdown is as follows:

    Bronte Ward – Female Low Secure Mental Health
    Denholme Ward – Female Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU)
    Bowling Ward – Specialist Female Personality Disorder Service
    Shelley Ward – Male Low Secure Mental Health
