  • We are looking for a Part Time Band 7 / Highly Specialist  Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dedicated team at Cygnet Broughton Lodge.  

    The post would be a part time position, working 2-3 days a week.

    Broughton Lodge is a 20 bed specialist residential service for adults with autism, learning disabilities and who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    • To take the lead in the development and management of the Occupational Therapy service across a division or region, using highly specialist clinical and managerial skills developed through experience and post-graduate training, ensuring quality of service and compliance with internal and external standards and regulations.  
    • Good understanding of core Occupational Therapy skills and current best practice in OT with clients who have a diagnosis of autism.
    • To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs and differential diagnosis, using evidenced based practice/client based principles to assess, plan, formulate, implement and evaluate interventions in a variety of settings.
    • To provide leadership and support to others, including supervision and continuing professional development to other Occupational Therapists and, where appropriate, OT Assistants.  

    You will have…..

    • A Degree / Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
    • Experience working in a Band 6 or Band 7 / Senior or Lead Occupational Therapist role 
    • Completion of Sensory Integration Level 2/3 
    • Experience working with an adult autism client group  
    • A good understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
    • The ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: 16-24 per week, between Monday to Friday (negotiable).
    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
