  • We are looking for a Part Time Band 6 / Specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dedicated team at Cygnet Broughton Lodge.  

    The post would be a part time position, working 2-3 days a week. 

    Broughton Lodge is a 20 bed specialist residential service for adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

    Your Day-to-Day...

    • Manage a defined caseload of clients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
    • Work closely with the inter-disciplinary team onsite
    • Complete full assessments of clients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure whilst utilising standardised and non-standardised tools
    • Implement core group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
    • Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management, within your clinical area
    • Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures
    • To actively participate in and initiate the planning, development and evaluation of OT services, holding responsibility for defined projects

    You will have...

    • A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Health Care Professions Council and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy
    • Experience working in a Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist role 
    • Completed Sensory Integration Level 1 (Required) 
    • Some experience working with an autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours 
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process and interventions in an autism / learning disability setting 
    • The ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: 16-24 per week, between Monday to Friday (negotiable).

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
