  • We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our inter-disciplinary team at Cygnet St. Teilo House in Gwent, South Wales on a 10 month fixed term contract.

    Cygnet St. Teilo House is a 23-bed service specialising in high dependency inpatient rehabilitation for women. Our state-of-the-art service has been designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes efficient rehabilitation and recovery.


    Your Day-to-Day...

    • Manage a defined caseload of clients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
    • Work closely with the x2 Therapy Assistants and Clinical Lead OT who will assist you in your day to day duties, including therapeutic activity
    • Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure whilst utilising standardised and non-standardised tools
    • Implement core group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
    • Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management, within your clinical area
    • Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures


    You will have...

    • A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
    • Recently completed your Occupational Therapy studies and seeking a Newly Qualified role or currently working as a Band 5 OT
    • Some experience or a passion for working with a female mental health client group
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process and interventions in a mental health care inpatient setting
    • The ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
