    Cygnet Taunton hospital provides 54 bedrooms across three distinct service lines which offer; acute care for men, acute care and rehabilitation for older adults and learning disability services for men who are over 18.

    We require Physiotherapy input to of the Hospitals acute wards. As a Physiotherapist working with in a mental health service, you will be involved with and responsible for providing both mental health and physical recovery to some of the most complex and interesting cases with in this sector. We can assist you in nurturing your assessment skills and focus on developing them in order to motivate patients giving you a profound sense of job satisfaction and growth within your chosen area of expertise. In turn, we will give you the opportunity to improve your professional communication ability to a high level that will enhance your career path as you move forward with us and our friendly welcoming team and the wider group.


    Your Day-to-Day…

    Carry out thorough initial assessment for new admissions to the unit
    Work closely with the inter-disciplinary team comprising of Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapist, Psychologists and a dedicated Nursing and Healthcare Support Team
    Formulate treatment and management plans using experience and evidenced based practice
    Provide written reports, attend meetings and offer training and support to other members of the team
    You will be involved in falls prevention and relevant exercise group or activities.
    You will be involved in manual handling of service users.
    You will be involved with Safe discharge planning and home visits.


    You will have…

    A degree / post graduate diploma (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
    2 years post grad experience with completed rotations
    HCPC registration (or equivalent)
    As you will have a varied caseload skills with neuro, musculoskeletal and respiratory is essential.
    Knowledge and understanding of Core Physiotherapy principles and current best practice
    Ability to work individually and as part of an inter-disciplinary team
    Experience of working with, and in, challenging and stressful situations

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: 3 days per week between Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
