    We are looking for a professional, ambitious and confident Senior Support Worker who is able to lead on shifts and assist the Unit Manager in the day to day management of the hospital, including management of staff, administration tasks and providing support to people who live at the service.

    Your Day-to-Day…


    To act as buddy to new Support Workers
    Ensure that the role and responsibilities of the Support Worker is full understood and demonstrated by all support staff.
    Ensure that Staff read and understand the ward Manual of Care
    Act as a Role Model with professional behavior, respecting Patients and confidentiality, developing other Staff, sharing knowledge and skills, and being supportive when there are crises or incidents.
    Act as a trainer/coach to the team, ensuring that training is consistently and accurately applied in the workplace, identifying skills gaps and arranging/delivering coaching to fill gaps.  
    Act as Associate Carers and to assist Named Nurses.
    To contribute and be part of a consistent highly professional Team supporting nurses and be recognised for skills in communicating with Patients.  
    Work with the team and contribute to raising standards, increased focus on Patient needs, promoting the philosophy of the Hospital putting Patients at the heart of everything we do
    Responsibility for ensuring that new initiatives, changes in policy and procedure are cascaded to support workers, implemented and consistently applied on the ward to agreed standards and timescales.



    We're looking for people who have: 

    Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player
    Sensitive and intuitive with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
    Helping to empower & support service user independence.
    Flexible to work 12 hour shift patterns on a rota basis including nights and weekends
    NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant care setting is preferable but not essential

    Travel Allowance per month - £30 if you live within 10mile radius, £50 if you live over 10 miles

    If you work over 40 hours you get £1ph extra per hour

  • Situated in East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, Cygnet Cedar Vale is a specialist autism hospital, providing assessment and intervention for up to 14 men living with autism and learning disabilities, as well as associated complex needs or difficulties with social engagement. Cygnet Cedar Vale is an impressive period property, situated on the edge of a picturesque village in its own extensive grounds.

    The service consists of three distinct areas to support individuals with different levels of need. Each of these areas are aimed at providing the individuals with an environment that will support them for moving on to more independent living. Within the service there are a number of communal lounges and dining areas that provide a choice of dining experiences, as well as more opportunities for service users to socialise or have quiet time away from others. Other facilities include a recently expanded and upgraded sensory room, a large garden and skills rooms.
