  • We are looking for a professional, ambitious & confident Mental Health Nurse / RMN to join our dedicated team as a Clinical Team Leader based initially on Alvaston ward our low secure female EUPD ward at our hospital in Derby.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual Patient programs of care. With a focus on risk assessment and risk management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Program Approach are met in a timely manner. Support empowerment of Patients having regard for their dignity rights whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care. Ensure that individual care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Patient, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines.

    You are…

    Open, compassionate, honest & resilient mental health nurse / RMN that is able capable of maintaining documentation and undertaking audits. Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices. Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk. Able to help empower & support service user independence.

    First 6 months you wll recieve - 1 Day DBT Awareness Training, 3 Day DBT Essentials training Accredited, 1 Day Schema Training, 1 Day working with Sex Offenders, Clinical Supervision Training, 1 Day resilience Training, 1 Day Trauma informed Care.

    Once you have passed Probation and consolidated the role you can apply to become accredited DBT Course Facilitators

    Provides low secure and mental health rehabilitation care based on the Recovery Model. Our integrated male care pathway includes Litchurch Ward, our low secure ward, and the Wyvern Unit, our mental health rehabilitation service. Alvaston Ward, our specialist female personality disorder service, is one of the leading services of its kind in the East and West Midlands.

    Litchurch Ward

    Is our male low secure service and can support up to 15 men who have mental health or dual/multiple diagnosis needs.

    The ward is suitable for people who are moving on from medium security placements and who have engaged in dangerous and/or chronic challenging behaviour and who may pose a continuing and ongoing risk to others or themselves. We can also support people who represent a persistent risk of absconding to avoid treatment, those who find it difficult to engage and those who have a dual or multiple diagnosis, which could include substance misuse and/or personality disorder.

    Derby is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC.
