    Cygnet Hospital Coventry offers specialist inpatient services for women across three wards, with step down facilities also forming part of the care pathway.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    ·         Be part of a resource specialist inpatient service Team dedicated to the patients at Coventry. Our person centred approach puts the individual at the centre of their treatment and discharge planning. With a wide range of activities and facilities to promote independent function and positive behaviour goals - all focus is on discharge planning to support service users to return to community living.

    ·         Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments and observations

    ·         Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality

    ·         Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing

    ·         Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.

    ·         Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

    ·         Open, compassionate, honest & resilient

    ·         Newly Qualified or Experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses / RMN and Registered Nurses Learning Disabilities / RNLD

    ·         Interested in Personality Disorders and Rehabilitation

    ·         Capable of maintaining documentation and undertaking audits

    ·         Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices

    ·         Able to deputise in a clinical lead role

    ·         Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk

    ·         Helping to empower & support service user independence.

    The programme includes...

    ·         Support from Cygnet’s Preceptorship Development Manager

    ·         Minimum two shifts per week working with your nominated preceptor

    ·         Preceptee supernumery 1st week on ward

    ·         Monthly CPD Days off the ward (specialist and general)

    ·         Clinical supervision, minimum 1 session per month

    ·         Managerial supervision, minimum 1 session per month

    ·         Preceptee Group Meetings on site and across the Cygnet group

    ·         Pay rise on completion of preceptorship

    ·         Certificate and letter of completion

    ·         Excellent training opportunities

    An action plan will then be created by you and your preceptor for the following six months to enhance identified strengths and address areas of development, taking you to your first annual appraisal.

  • Cygnet Hospital Coventry provides an all-female specialist mental health service with 56 beds.  Services include a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), a highly specialised personality disorder service also catering for those with dual diagnosis disordered eating, and a locked rehabilitation unit.

    Cygnet Coventry Hospital has been awarded an overall rating of "Good" be the CQC.
