    Cygnet St Augustine’s is a 32 bed specialist high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men. It provides state-of-the-art facilities and a multi-disciplinary treatment programme designed to assist service users with their return to independent living.

    Your Day-to-Day...

    You’ll be working 42 hours a week in a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men.

    • Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual Patient programs of care. With a focus on risk assessment and risk management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Program Approach are met in a timely manner
    • Report any ill health amongst Patients and make requests for RC/GP/Professional visits where necessary
    • Support empowerment of Patients having regard for their dignity rights whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care
    • Ensure that individual care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Patient, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines
    • Administer prescribed medicines in accordance with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

     

    You are...

    • Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
    • Experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current Pin Number, including two years experience post qualifying
    • Capable to maintain documentation and undertake audits
    • Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices
    • Able to deputise in a clinical lead role
    • Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk
    • Helping to empower & support service user independence.

The men are supported to create CVs, apply for jobs, practice for and attend interviews as well as develop other skills necessary in a work environment. We also offer a range of internal therapeutic earning positions within Cygnet St Augustine’s where service users have the opportunity to apply for, be interviewed for and take on the responsibility of a suitable job. The men receive training by a staff member that is skilled in the particular job.
