  • We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at Cygnet Acer Clinic in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. 

    Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 28 bed rehabilitation service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs.

    Rehabilitation is provided in a therapeutic environment, with a level of security matched to individual needs. The aim of the treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialisation programme is to prepare the people in our care either for transfer to conditions of lesser security, or for a life in the community.

    Your Day-to-Day...

    • Manage a defined caseload of clients using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
    • Work closely with the Head of Occupational Therapy and x2 OTA's who will assist you in your day to day duties, including therapeutic activity
    • Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure whilst utilising standardised and non-standardised tools
    • Implement core group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
    • Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management, within your clinical area
    • Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures

    You will have...

    • A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
    • Recently completed your Occupational Therapy studies and seeking a Newly Qualified role or currently working as a Band 5 OT
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process and interventions in a mental health care inpatient setting
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a interdisciplinary team

    Contracted hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday.
