  • We are currently recruiting a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Raglan House in Smethwick, West Midlands.

    This a fixed term contract until April 2020.

    Cygnet Raglan House is a 25 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation hospital for women. The service is designed to provide an environment which promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity.

    We are dedicated to understand, stabilise and break the traumatic cycles of relapse that can impact people’s lives. Our service has been designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes efficient rehabilitation and recovery.

    The Opportunity...

    The post-holder will provide a high quality psychology service which will include; completing assessments, formulating and implementing psychological treatment, interventions and management plans for individual clients relating to their diagnosis, potential risks and social needs. You will provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.

    This role will be working as part of an established multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consisting of; a Consultant Psychiatrist, an Occupational Therapist, a Speech and Language Therapist, Nurses and Health Care Support Workers.

    Within the MDT setting you will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area, and advise non-psychology staff on psychological principles and psychological understanding of behaviours displayed by personality disorder service users. To formulate and implement psychological treatment, interventions and management plans for individual clients relating to their diagnosis, potential risks and social needs are also key requirements of this role.

    The post-holder will have a key role in leading in the design and implementation of individual and group psychological treatment programmes.

    As a HCPC Registered Psychologist, you will have a key role in the training and clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists at the service. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development and the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.

    We are looking for people who have…

    • A Doctorate Level Qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical or Forensic Psychology along with HCPC Registration
    • Experience of working with a variety of adult client groups, ideally within mental health
    • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity
    • Knowledge of psychological assessment and formulation in healthcare, as well as planning and delivering psychological interventions
    • Experience of various psychological therapies/models and risk assessments
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

    Contracted hours: 32hrs between Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
