  • We are looking for a professional, ambitious & confident Mental Health Nurse / RMN to join our dedicated team as a Clinical Team Leader based initially on Alvaston ward our low secure female EUPD ward at our hospital in Derby.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual Patient programs of care. With a focus on risk assessment and risk management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Program Approach are met in a timely manner. Support empowerment of Patients having regard for their dignity rights whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care. Ensure that individual care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Patient, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines.

    You are…

    Open, compassionate, honest & resilient mental health nurse / RMN that is able capable of maintaining documentation and undertaking audits. Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices. Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk. Able to help empower & support service user independence.

    Provides low secure and mental health rehabilitation care based on the Recovery Model. Our integrated male care pathway includes Litchurch Ward, our low secure ward, and the Wyvern Unit, our mental health rehabilitation service. Alvaston Ward, our specialist female personality disorder service, is one of the leading services of its kind in the East and West Midlands.

    Alvaston Ward

    Is a 16 bed specialist low secure service for women with a primary diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder. The ward can support women with highly complex needs and those who have experienced previously unsuccessful placements. The primary pre-cursor to an admission to Alvaston Ward is that the person is ready to engage in a therapeutic programme. Service users may have a history of involvement in the criminal justice system or may present with significantly challenging behaviour, severe self-neglect and vulnerability.

    Derby is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC.
