  • We are currently recruiting a Counselling / Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Ealing.

    Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards.

    New Dawn Ward is a 9 bed specialist Tier 4 service, providing treatment, care and support for women with a personality disorder who are ready to engage in therapy. Sunrise Ward provides a highly specialised eating disorder service for women, including those with extremely low BMIs. Sunrise focuses on supporting service users to attain a healthy BMI and prepare for a return home. We are one of only five national eating disorders services to achieve the ‘excellent’ accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QED).


    The Opportunity…

    The post-holder will work closely with the Psychology Department have a key role in leading on specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy. You will also consider potential risks and social needs of the client group, relevant to their diagnosis.

    This role will be working as part of an established multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consisting of; a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Specialty Doctor, an Occupational Therapist, Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. You will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.

    As a HCPC Registered Psychologist, you will have a pivotal role in the training and clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists, Volunteers and Psychology Trainees/Students on site. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development along with the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.


    You will have…
     

    A Doctorate Level Qualification (BPS route or equivalent) in Counselling or Clinical Psychology along with HCPC Registration OR be within 3 months of obtaining HCPC Registration.

    Experience within mental health and knowledge of psychological assessment, treatment and therapies.  

    The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

    Training and supervision experience is desirable.

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: up to 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
