    Cygnet Health Care are looking for an Assistant Social Worker to join them at there Godden Green site. The post holder of this role will carry out assigned tasks in support of, and supported by senior members of the Social Work Team.

    • We are currently recruiting for a full time Social Work Assistant to join our busy Social Work Department. We are looking for someone who is empathetic, recovery focused, who can work as part of a mulit-discplianry team and use their own initiative.
    • Experience of care work is highly desirable and a background in mental health services.Experience of working with Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
    • Supervision will be provided by the Senior Social Worker on a four weekly basis.
    • This would offer an opportunity for any individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in Social Work.

    Duties include (but not restricted to):-

    • Providing Individual and family support through care planning, the care programme approach and one to one support.
    • The completion and review of service user questionnaires, care plans, CPA report writing, and data input to the My Path System.
    • Supporting with the planning and implementation of the Carers, family and friends strategy.
    • Supporting service users with application forms, making telephone calls, going on leave and to develop skills to support hospital discharge.
    • To be actively involved in the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of service users and their care under the supervision of the ward social worker.
    • To take an active role in the Multi-Disciplinary Team and attend weekly ward rounds.
    • Duties as detailed may vary. The Job description is not exclusive and is subject to annual review.

  • Cygnet Hospital Godden Green operates an integrated Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) with a DfE registered school, the Knole Development Centre. Our specialist pathway offers an open acute admissions service (Knole Ward), and a pre-discharge wing (Littleoaks) to allow for a smooth transition for patients returning home to their families.

    The hospital is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Kent Weald, near Sevenoaks. Its location, in over an acre of its own grounds, helps the hospital provide a calm and therapeutic environment.
