  • We are currently recruiting a Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist to join our team.

    In this role you will be working part time across 2 of our services: 2 days per week at Cygnet Broughton Lodge and 1 day per week at Cygnet Woodrow House.

    Broughton Lodge is a 20 bed specialist residential service for adults with autism and who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

    Woodrow House is our new community specialist residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

    The Opportunity…

    The post-holder will work closely with the Head of Psychology and have a key role in providing highly specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy.

    You will also consider potential risks and social needs of the client group, relevant to their diagnosis.

    You will provide a high quality psychology service to a range of clients across both services.

    This role will be working as part of an established multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consisting of; an Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Health Care Support Workers. You will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.

    As a HCPC Registered Psychologist, you will have a pivotal role in the training and clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists, Volunteers and Psychology Trainees/Students on site. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development along with the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.

    You will have…

    A Doctorate Level Qualification (BPS route or equivalent) in Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychology along with HCPC Registration OR be within 3 months of obtaining HCPC Registration.

    Experience within mental health and knowledge of psychological assessment, treatment and therapies.  

    The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

    Training and supervision experience is desirable.

    Contracted hours: up to 24hrs per week / 3 days per week between Monday to Friday.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
