  • We are looking for a professional, ambitious & experienced Nurse (Learning Disability / Mental Health / General) to join our dedicated team as the head of care at our specialist Neurorehabilitation service in Henbury, Bristol.

    Designed specifically to provide a clinically led evidence based neuropsychiatric pathway Brunel Hospital supports individuals with an Acquired Brain Injury to maximise their quality of life. We create a therapeutic rich environment which engages our service users and offers them the opportunity to maximise their independence.

    Your Day-to-Day…

    Oversee the effective admission/discharge of Patients. Ensure all social and health needs are assessed and risks evaluated. Be responsible for the implementation of risk assessments. Take responsibility for Patient / staff meetings, including CPAs; Handovers; Tribunals and Ward rounds.

    You are…

    Interested in providing care and rehabilitation pathways for those with an Acquired Brain Injury within Neuropsychiatric/Neurobehavioural rehabilitation setting. Open, compassionate, honest & resilient Nurse (Learning Disability / Mental Health / General) with current pin number. Currently operating as a Head of Care / Ward manager or significant experience in a Senior Nursing role. Have acute, rehabilitation, forensic and/or secure psychiatry experience. Have evidence of functioning in a supervisory role as a clinician in a similar setting within a multi-disciplinary team. Able capable of maintaining documentation and undertaking audits. Well informed of the Mental Health Act & have an understanding of latest nursing practices. Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk. Able to help empower & support service user independence.

    A 32 bed service providing neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative rehabilitation for men with mental health difficulties and acquired brain injury.

    Our focus is on creating an environment that engages our service users and sets the tone for recovery. Cygnet Brunel has been designed and equipped with an all-integrated physical environment to aid our service user’s neurobehavioural rehabilitation process. Our specifically designed environment assists the men to manage visual, spatial and perceptual difficulties. There are four wards ensuring that individuals’ needs are met and where appropriate is a care pathway through the service prior to discharge.
