    We require an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Team at Cygnet Lodge Lewisham, to support recovery and rehabilitation activities in the integrated male care pathway at Cygnet. The Lodge offers evidenced based care to promote social inclusion and independent living skills for individuals with complex needs.

    The successful candidate will carry a caseload, hold responsibility for specific projects and contribute to clinical governance for Cygnet Healthcare.  The individual will have experience of providing standardised assessments and planning, delivering and evaluating evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions in mental health care.

    All successful applicants will be required to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) in respect of regulated work with protected adults and regulated work with children. A PVG certificate contains all unspent and certain spent conviction information. It also contains any other non-conviction information that the police or other

    government bodies think is relevant. Disclosure Scotland continually monitor PVG scheme members' records for vetting information including criminal convictions that may affect their suitability to work with vulnerable groups.

  • Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service providing care for up to 17 men. Our service provides a high level of support and uses a recovery focused model. The service is ideal for anyone who has been on a longer-stay hospital or acute ward for a period of time and would benefit from a service which helps them prepare for a successful return to the community.

    Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is part of our integrated male care pathway of services that includes the low secure and psychiatric intensive care unit at our sister unit Cygnet Hospital Blackheath.

     

    This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
