    You’ll be working 40 hours per week including alternative weekends to cover a 7 day rota in a hospital setting.

    Your Day-to-Day...

    • Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals for patients, staff & visitors
    • Assist with menu planning and ordering as required
    • Provide special diets where necessary as well as taking into account the preferences of individual Clients.
    • Maintain an accurate record / list of food supplies, freezer temperatures requirements, etc. where requested / required.
    • Supervise and train Kitchen Staff in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures
    • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room

    You are...

    • A skilled cook, with previous catering/hospitality experience
    • The holder of a Level 3 food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
    • HACCP trained and have completed Food Safety training
    • Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external quests at all times
    • An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
    • Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision

  • Cygnet Hospital Derby provides low secure and mental health rehabilitation care based on the Recovery Model. Our integrated male care pathway includes Litchurch Ward, our low secure ward, and the Wyvern Unit, our mental health rehabilitation service. Alvaston Ward, our specialist female personality disorder service, is one of the leading services of its kind in the East and West Midlands.

    Service users have access to external secure courtyards, and therapy and leisure facilities, including a fully equipped gym, art room, IT classroom and therapy kitchen, which contribute to a comprehensive package of care. Cygnet Hospital Derby is built to low secure specifications.
