    We are looking for an experienced Cook at our Hospital in Sheffield. Hours: 20 hours on 7 days rota basis.


    About the job role

    • Comply with relevant Cygnet Health Care policy, procedure and standards, and local protocol, including attendance at training provided by the company, to ensure safe and effective functioning of the department and hospital as a whole.
    • Provide meals for patients, staff and visitors to the agreed quality standards of the department.
    • Provide the above-mentioned service within the budgeted departmental expenditure.
    • Supervise the work of staff employed in the department when acting/deputising for the Head Chef.
    • Be involved in marketing activities as required.


    We are looking for people who have:

    • Good communication.
    • Ability to plan nourishing and attractive menus within available budgets
    • Team player / Works on own initiative.
    • City & Guilds 706 - 1 & 2 / NVQ Level 2/3 Catering (or equivalent)
    • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
    • Hospitality experience.

    Please note – this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as you will be in contact with vulnerable adults. Therefore all candidates invited for interview will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and any offer of employment is subject to successful clearance.
