  • We are currently recruiting a Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury.

    Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents. The site has 14 wards and over 160 patients. Security levels range between medium secure to rehabilitation services.


    The Opportunity...

    The post-holder will join our established therapy team and work closely with our Head of Psychology to provide a psychology service to a range of clients at the service.  

    This role will also be working as part of an MDT to include; Psychiatrists. Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers and Health Care Support Workers.

    You will be providing highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations to inform treatment planning; individual and group therapy. You will have support from an Assistant Psychologist on the ward.

    Within the MDT setting you will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge, and advise non-psychology staff on psychological principles and understanding of behaviours displayed by service users. In addition, you will be expected to formulate and implement psychological treatment, interventions and management plans for individual clients relating to their diagnosis and risks.

    The post-holder will have a key role in the training and clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists, Volunteers and Psychology Trainees/Students on site. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development and the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.



    You will have...
     

    • A Doctorate Level Qualification (BPS route or equivalent) in Clinical / Forensic / Counselling Psychology along with HCPC Registration OR be within 3 months of obtaining HCPC Registration
    • Experience of working with child and adolescent clients, ideally within mental health (CAMHS)
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Knowledge and experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health conditions, of varying severity and complexity, as well as planning and delivering psychological interventions
    • Experience of various psychological therapies/models and risk assessments
    • Training and supervision experience is desirable

    Contracted hours: Monday to Friday

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
