    About the programme:

    Cygnet Health Care are offering the opportunity for Newly Qualified and Experienced Nurses to join our new Nursing Rotation Programme.

    During the 18 month programme, successful applicants will gain experience of caring for patients with a wide range of mental health and other conditions within a variety of different services. On their journey through the programme, Nurses will be supported by a named mentor who will oversee their progression through the programme and offer coaching and support.

    The programme structure will vary according to the services available at the Cygnet Hospital where you are based. However, an example rotation programme is as follows:

    • Placement one - 6 months working on an Acute Mental Health ward
    • Placement two - 6 months working within a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
    • Placement three - 6 months working on a Personality Disorder ward

     

    Cygnet have a range of services you could become involved in and undertake a placement at to include:

    • Secure
    • Acute and PICU
    • Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery
    • Personality Disorder
    • CAMHS
    • Eating Disorder
    • Learning Disabilities and Autism
    • Neuropsychiatric
    • Older Adults
    • Deafness and Mental Health

    At the end of the programme, Nurses will have the opportunity to apply for a Senior Nurse and/or Clinical Team Leader post within Cygnet Health Care.

    Rotations will be based at your nearest participating Cygnet Hospital. Whilst you will be based at one site, there may be a requirement to travel to other Cygnet sites as appropriate to complete your rotation.

    Successful candidates who join the programme will receive:

    • A structured Nursing rotation programme offering candidates the ability to gain a wide range of experience in differing clinical environments and services.
    • Newly qualified nurses will be supported with a 6 month period of preceptorship enabling them to develop their confidence to practice whilst gaining clinical experience in various mental health services.
    • Staff taking part in the rotational programme will have access to Cygnet’s excellent learning and development opportunities.
    • Dedicated support and development with a named mentor and a buddy for each placement and a structured learning programme.
    • Cygnet Health Care provide services across the country for a wide range of service users. By undertaking this rotational post, Cygnet can support you in your nursing career. The rotation programme provides an essential foundation for moving towards becoming a Clinical Team Leader, and Nurses who successfully complete the programme will have the opportunity to apply for a Clinical Team Leader position with Cygnet Health Care.
    • Upon completion of the programme, Nurses will be presented with a certificate as evidence that they have successfully completed the programme.
