    We have one position available to support occupational therapy provision on a 15 bed low secure ward for female service users.

    Post:  Occupational Therapy Assistant

    Base: Cygnet Hospital Sheffield

    Responsible for: Delivery of Occupational Therapy programme (working under a qualified occupational therapist).

    Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am - 17:00pm

    The occupational therapy team work within a multi-disciplinary team to drive forward a programme of recovery and rehabilitation. The care pathway is evidence based with a focus on social inclusion and independent living skills.

    We require an energetic, multi-skilled and enthusiastic person to provide individual and group therapeutic activity sessions, as part of an Occupational Therapy service.  The successful candidate will have good communication skills and a caring approach towards service users.

    As well as providing therapeutic activities, you will also support service users with their care plans, activity timetabling work, and support the Occupational Therapist with reporting, so good documentation skills are required.

    As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide a supporting role in direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will support with the assessment, implementation and development of an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.
