    The Role:

    To ensure the effective delivery of all Infection Prevention and Control to high level throughout Cygnet’s portfolio, to a standard of legal compliance. Providing assurance to the Property Director and Group Health & Safety Director on all IPC matters.

    Ensuring auditing is undertaken annually in all sites within the portfolio and providing guidance to the Property Department on the effective remediation works required to ensure infection prevention and control in all sites.

    To assist in developing a consistent approach to infection control and prevention within the portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To ensure Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) is addressed in all areas of the portfolio.  Taking accountability for infection prevention all existing properties within the portfolio, new build and refurbishment. 
    • To work closely with the Director of Nursing (Infection Control Lead) and the Nursing Team to ensure Infection Prevention and Control is agreed and implemented between the departments.
    • To develop in partnership with the Director of Nursing an annual program, that is aligned to the HCAI code (DH 2010) (plus for Scottish and Welsh hospitals: NHS Scotland Code of Practice and National HCAI strategy for hospitals in Wales) and reflects specific objectives of annual program.
    • Be a key implementer of the IPC programme.
