     As a 3 site Occupational Therapy service (Beckton Hospital, Blackheath Hospital and Lewisham Lodge) we have 16 occupational therapy staff and work with robust structures to support and develop individuals.

     We have one position available for an Activity Co-ordinator to support occupational therapy provision on our psychiatric intensive care unit for male service users.

    Post:  Activity Co-ordinator

    Base: Cygnet Hospital Blackheath

    Responsible for: Delivery of Occupational Therapy programme at Blackheath PICU (working under a qualified occupational therapist and alongside another occupational therapy assistant).

    Responsible to: Deputy Head Occupational Therapist (based at Cygnet Hospital Blackheath), Head Occupational Therapist (based at Cygnet Hospital Beckton) and Regional Director of Occupational Therapy.

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Location: London, SE10 8AD

    Cygnet Blackheath PICU is a male psychiatric intensive care unit with 14 beds. The occupational therapy team work within a multi-disciplinary team to drive forward a programme of recovery and rehabilitation. The care pathway is evidence based with a focus on social inclusion and independent living skills.

    As a member of the occupational therapy team you will be directed and supported to deliver occupation focused activities.

    The Successful Candidate should have:

    • Experience in the field of care (Mental Health experience desirable)
    • An understanding of the role and value of Occupational Therapy
    • An ability to demonstrate proactive approaches to deliver activities
    • Experience of being able to effectively work both within a team and autonomously
    • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
    • Resilience and an ability to problem solve effectively.

     Requirements
    The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
