    Cygnet Health Care have an exciting internal opportunity to take on the role of Responsible Officer.

    The Role:

    To lead in medical revalidation for Cygnet Health Care. The core components are to improve patient safety, improve effectiveness of care, and improve the patients’ experience by ensuring their views are integral to doctors’ evaluations. The Responsible Officer needs:

    • To develop, produce and introduce required policies, procedures and protocols necessary to ensure that the organisation is able to fulfil its obligations as a Designated Body including clinical and corporate governance and where necessary, such changes as are required to the Constitution of the organisation.
    • To work with the organisation Medical Appraisal Lead to ensure that the doctors who have a prescribed connection take part in annual appraisal.
    • To establish and implement procedures to investigate concerns about a doctor’s fitness to practise raised by patients of members or colleagues or arising from another source.

     

    Training and Development

    The post holder will be expected to attend and contribute to academic meetings and to adhere to the professional standards for CPD as set out by the GMC, the Department of Health and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
