    Cygnet Health Care have been providing a national network of high quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Waking Night Support Worker to lead members of the Support Worker team under the direction of the clinical team, providing provision of care, ensuring residents retain as much of their dignity and individuality as possible as well as being involved in the general activities of the home.

    Dene Brook is a residential service providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

     

    In this role you’ll:

    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with each individual and other staff
    • Ensure that clients are assessed and supported in a safe environment
    • Assist each individual with their medical and welfare needs and to report as required, which may include the administration of emergency ‘when required’ medication
    • Undertake key-working responsibilities for individuals accessing the service
    • Undertake formal supervision of Support Workers
    • Support induction for new Support Workers
    • Ensure service users notes are compliant
    • Participate in clinical audit
    • Have an active role in service development
    • Enhance the culture of openness and transparency
    • Impact positive morale and work ethic

     

    We're looking for people who have:

    • Basic understanding / knowledge of learning disabilities and mental health
    • Previous experience in a senior role
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player
    • The sensitivity and energy required to provide a trusting and stimulating lifestyle for patients
    • A genuine desire to make a real difference in people’s lives
    • A strong, flexible mental aptitude and an ability to cope with the physical demands of the role.
    • Flexibility to work shift patterns including weekends
