    Post: Occupational Therapy Assistant

    Base: Roseacre Ward (16 Beds, Personality Disorder Rehabilitation)

    Responsible for: Occupational Therapy Assistant duties, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.

    Responsible to: Head of Occupational Therapy (clinical supervision provided by Occupational Therapist)

    Hours: 40 hours per week

    Overview of site/Ward: A Full-Time Occupational Therapy Assistant is required within our new state of the art hospital at Maidstone, within our Female Personality Disorder Unit. 

    We require an energetic, multi-skilled and enthusiastic person to provide individual and group therapeutic activity sessions, as part of an Occupational Therapy service.  The successful candidate will have good communication skills and a caring approach towards service users.

    As well as providing therapeutic activities, you will also support service users with their care plans, activity timetabling work, and support the Occupational Therapist with reporting, so good documentation skills are required.

    As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide a supporting role in direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will support with the assessment, implementation and development of an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.
