    Post: Band 6 Occupational Therapist

    Base: Cygnet Woodside Hospital

    Responsible for: 9 patients and Activity Coordinators as appropriate.

    Responsible to: Band 7 OT & Hospital Manager

    Hours: 24-32 hours (flexibility considered)

    Cygnet Woodside provides assessment, treatment and fast stream rehabilitation for men with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and who may have behaviours that challenge.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

    Prioritisation skills are key to manage the caseload of clients effectively and you will work closely with the Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team onsite.

    The Successful Candidate should be/have:

    • This role is suitable for a newly qualified occupational therapist
    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or registering imminently
    • Experienced in the field of adult mental health or PICU environments
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
