    As a 3 site Occupational Therapy service (Beckton Hospital, Blackheath Hospital and Lewisham Lodge) we have 16 occupational therapy staff and work with robust structures to support and develop individuals.

    We have one position available to lead on occupational therapy provision in the rehabilitation and PICU services.

     

    Post:  Experienced Occupational Therapist (Band 6 equivalent)

    Base: Cygnet Lodge Lewisham

    Responsible for: Delivery of Occupational Therapy at Lewisham Lodge and Blackheath PICU (working with 4 occupational therapy technicians).

    Responsible to: Deputy Head Occupational Therapist (based at Cygnet Hospital Blackheath), Head Occupational Therapist (based at Cygnet Hospital Beckton) and Regional Director of Occupational Therapy.

    Hours: 40 hours per week

    Location: London, SE13 6QZ

    Overview of services:

    Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is a male high dependency unit with 17 beds.
    Cygnet Blackheath PICU is a male psychiatric intensive care unit with 14 beds.

    The occupational therapy team work within a multi-disciplinary team to drive forward programmes of recovery and rehabilitation. Our care pathways are evidence based with a focus on social inclusion and independent living skills.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will assess, implement and develop treatment programmes according to diagnosis and identified needs.

    The Successful Candidate should be/have:

    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).
    • Experience in the field of Mental Health.
    • An advanced understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions
    • To demonstrate leadership skills to manage projects, people and deadlines
    • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
    • Resilience and an ability to manage service challenges.

    Requirements
