    Responsible to: Clinical Lead OT (Band 8) at Salford Lodge and on site Hospital Manager for supervision

    Hours: 40 hours per week

    Overview of site/Ward:

    Cygnet Fountains is a 32 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. The people we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings.

    Our well established service has been designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes efficient rehabilitation and recovery. We are dedicated to understand, stabilise and break the traumatic cycles of relapse that can impact service users’ lives.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.
    In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

    The Successful Candidate should be/have:

    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
    • Experienced in the field of adult mental health
    • Working as a Band 6 or Band 7 OT
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
    • Able to effectively lead a team
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Passionate about student education

    Requirements
