    The role of the BANK Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) is to help compliment the Occupational Therapy team by ensuring continuity of the interventions provided by the qualified Occupational Therapists. you will help cover annual leave and sickness, with a flexible zero hours contract. The OTA will become a member of the multidisciplinary team and will provide flexible and constructive programmes of activity approved by the professional staff. The individual will have specific responsibilities both clinically and administratively, where they are expected to work with minimal supervision. They will contribute to the provision of a high quality care for patients and will uphold the positive image of Cygnet Healthcare.


    You will:

    • Develop and deliver an activities programme in collaboration with the Ward Occupational Therapist.
    • Cover sickness and annual leave
    • To liaise with staff in ensuring activities are in place for the weekends and evenings. To review the provision of these activities to ensure meaningful choices are offered.
    • To ensure compliance with Cygnet Health Care and statutory Health and Safety procedures and to report any possible Health and Safety hazards to the Operations Manager/Hospital Manager.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and assist in maintaining confidential records.
    • Report Accidents and Incidents concerning patients, staff and visitors immediately to the person in charge.
    • To encourage patients to think on their own and as part of a group.
    • Interest in delivering therapeutic activities to service users
    • Ability to work on own initiative
    • Willingness to adapt and learn new skills

    • Willingness to travel
