    Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents.

    We are looking for two Activity Coordinators to work in our Adult Secure Services at Cygnet Hospital Bury.

    Are you interested in creating, initiating and running activity programmes for patients with mental illness and personality disorders to help in their care and recovery from inpatient admission. This is a challenging role, but with resilience, if you think you have the creativity, motivation, organisational skills and passion to fulfil this role, then please apply now.

    You will be responsible to the Ward Occupational Therapist (OT) who will assess patients need and then guide you as to what types of activities will help in the recovery and treatment for those individuals. You will receive supervision from the OT, and there will be forums where you can meet up with other activity coordinators to share ideas, learning and to benefit from this peer support network.

    The successful candidate should be/have:

    • Able to evidence passion for working with people with challenging behavioursAble to evidence an understanding of mental illness, preferably have some experience of working in a mental health setting either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
    • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical environments
    • Evidence an understanding of why being active in mind and body is helpful in recovery.
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Ability to use computers for creating documents, charts and posters
