    Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 28 bed rehabilitation service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs. Rehabilitation is provided in a therapeutic environment, with a level of security matched to individual needs. The aim of the treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialisation programme is to prepare the people in our care either for transfer to conditions of lesser security, or for a life in the community.

    Post: (Band 7) Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist

    Base: Cygnet Acer Clinic

    Caseload: 28 patients (Split between the post holder and the band 6 in post)

    Responsible for: The post holder will line manage and lead a Band 6 OT & an Activity Coordinators.

    Responsible to: Service Manager for Line management supervision & Occupational Therapist (Band 8 or above) for professional supervision. 

    Hours: 32 hours per week (4 days a week)

    With over 150 OTs in the company, we also work together as a large team providing support to each other across the group, with various specialist interest groups to tap into, including Mental Health, Neuropsychiatry, Autism, Learning Disabilities and Sensory Integration, to name a few.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to our patient’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

    Prioritisation skills are key to manage the caseload of clients effectively and you will work closely with the Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team onsite.

    The Successful Candidate should be/have:

    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
    • Experience in the field of personality disorder  
    • Working as a Band 6 or Band 7 OT
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
