  • Cygnet Health Care have been providing a national network of high quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.

    Amberwood Lodge is a 9 bed specialist residential service for adults with autism who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care.

    We are currently recruiting for casual/bank support workers who are looking for flexibilty and can offer ad-hoc shifts to cover for annual leave, sickness, training, etc. to suit individual lifestyles and availabilty.

    Support workers with interests in care, responsibility & new challenges are encouraged to apply.

    In this role you’ll:

    • Work with Adults who have autism, anxiety, limited communication skills and complex needs, and challenging behaviour
    • Support individuals with everyday duties i.e. cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping etc
    • Support individuals to maintain good health and a healthy diet and promote and teach individuals new life skills.
    • Accompany individuals out & about in the community i.e. health visits, day service, college shopping, holidays, etc.
    • Support individuals with any activities (gym, bakery, arts & crafts, swimming, horse riding, bowling, football, cinema, cycling, walks, snooker, etc.)
    • Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way
    • Follow and learn specific behavioural support techniques

    We're looking for people who have:

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a good team player
    • The sensitivity and energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied lifestyle for the residents
    • A genuine desire to make a real difference in people’s lives
    • Flexibility to work 12 hour night shifts on a rota basis
