  • We are currently recruiting a HCPC Registered Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Cygnet Hospital Bury.

    Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents. The site has 14 wards and over 160 patients. Security levels range between medium secure to rehabilitation services.

    Cygnet Hospital Bury offers a dedicated personality disorder service on two wards, Columbus and Madison, in a medium secure setting. Both wards deliver care for men with enduring mental health needs, co-morbidity and behaviours which challenge in a calm, therapeutic environment with a focus on service user experience, shared care and safety.


    The Opportunity…

    As a practitioner psychologist, provide clinical input and hold a client caseload within a specific area/team.

    To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by trainee/assistant psychologists and other clinical members of the service who provide psychologically based care and treatment. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/teams. To utilise research skills for audit, policy, service development and research.

    To ensure compliance of the team with KPT and KPI’s as identified.


    You will have…

    • A Doctorate Level Qualification (BPS route or equivalent) in Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychology
    • Practical experience of standard assessment tools, such as the SAVRY, WISC-5, MACI etc
    • The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team

    Requirements

    Contracted hours: up to 40 per week, Monday to Friday. We will also consider applications from those who are seeking part time hours / flexible working arrangements.

    Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

    Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.
