    Post: (Band 5 Equivalent) Occupational Therapist

    Base: Roseacre Ward (Personality Disorder Service) 16 beds.

    Responsible for: The post holder will deliver clinical care for 1 ward (with 1 full time OT assistant as support).  Supervision of OT assistant.

    Responsible to: Head OT at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Overview of site/Ward: Roseacre is Cygnet Hospital Maidstone’s Personality Disorder service for Women. Roseacre supports women with a history of Personality Disorder, self-harm and trauma. You do not need experience in Personality Disorder services; however a willingness to learn new skills.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

    The Successful Candidate should be/have:

    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
    • Experience in the field of adult mental health
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Passionate about student education

    Requirements
