As Resident Medical Officer, you’ll play a crucial role providing on call cover for Cygnet Hospital Wyke and Bierley. Cygnet Hospital Wyke provides a comprehensive pathway of acute admissions services for men and Cygnet Hospital Bierley provides a range of low secure, specialist and psychiatric intensive care services for men and women, including a specialist personality disorder service for women.
The RMO is the doctor onsite at all times, covering on call between 5pm and 9am and weekend shifts. Generally you will work 5 days on and 2 days off per week.
At Cygnet, we support our Doctors to grow their careers and progress to senior roles – up to Consultant level and beyond, through our prestigious CESR programme.

We are looking for someone who is...
- Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
- An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement, the ability to manage risk & know when to ask for help
- Has UK experience
- Experienced in Psychiatry
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
- Committed to continued professional development
